Court hearings have been delayed for two men who attacked a man in a Mahoning County Courtroom as he was being sentenced for murdering their mother.

Twenty-three-year-old Jerome Stewart and 30-year-old Anthony Dees were scheduled for video arraignment Friday booked on charges of assault, obstructing official business, and contempt of court.  The hearings were delayed after a bomb threat caused the municipal court building to close early Friday.

The men were arrested in the courtroom of Judge Maureen Sweeney after attacking 62-year-old Dale Williams Sr., who was being sentenced for the June 15, 2017 shooting death of the men's mother, 46-year-old Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart.

Police say Williams rammed his van into a vehicle being driven by Pledger-Stewart on Market Street in Youngstown, then shot her several times.

Thursday's sentencing hearing has been postponed until Monday morning.

Stewart and Dees are now expected to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court for video arraignment Monday on the assault and obstructing charges.

Judge Sweeney issued the contempt citation.
