United Way of Trumbull County holds year in review event
The United Way of Trumbull County held it's 96th annual meeting and awards luncheon Thursday.
At the event, the organization recognized companies and community leaders who provided support during the 2018 campaign.
The nonprofits' president, Ginny Pasha, said this summer the United Way will focus on children's literacy and financial planning.
"First is the expansion of our reading great by eight and early literacy initiative. We are adding six new schools to that this summer, and children cannot be prepared for the workforce if they can't read," Pasha said, "We also have our Trumbull County partnership for finanical empowerment that helps families with low to moderate incomes manage limited financial resources."
The United Way also said GM told them they will still donate to the organization even with the Lordstown Plant still being unallocated.
