Morning commuters may have seen a plume of smoke rising over Youngstown's South Side early Monday.

The smoke was from a house fire not far from Glenwood Avenue.

Someone called a dispatcher just after 6:30 am to report flames at a home on the 500 block of Clearmount Drive.

When the Youngstown Fire Department arrived they found flames spread throughout the home.

Drivers reported seeing the smoke from as far away as Route 224 in Boardman.

Firefighters tell 21 News that the home was vacant and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
