Drivers found themselves at a standstill Thursday morning as they waited for first responders to reopen the northbound lanes of Route 11 in Liberty.

A fire broke out in a vehicle just south of the Tibbets-Wick Road exit at around 9:30 am.

Traffic was initially blocked while crews from the fire department worked to put out the fire.

State troopers say they had reopened one lane by 10 am.

No one was in the burning car.
