United Way of Trumbull receives donation to help women manage and prevent diabetes
Studies show that about 12% (nearly 22,000) of Trumbull County residents are diabetic.

Women United has received a $50,000 donation for their initiative to help women in Trumbull County manage and prevent diabetes.
Christine Cope, the agency's director of resource development and marketing, announced Thursday that these funds were donated by The Women's Auxiliary at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
Women United, which was launched in November 2018 by the United Way of Trumbull County and is based in Warren, is dedicated to advancing the common good in Trumbull County while providing women with opportunities for personal and professional development. The agency's signature focus is diabetes.
Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. Studies show that about 12% (nearly 22,000) of Trumbull County residents are diabetic. This number is 8% above the national level and 10% above the state level.
Studies also show nearly 6.7% of individuals in Trumbull County are uninsured, while another 29% are considered to be under-insured.
