More layoffs announced at GM Lordstown plant
A company that previously announced it was laying off 39 employees who worked inside the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown, now says it is laying off 40 more workers.

A company that previously announced it was laying off 39 employees who worked inside the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown, now says it is laying off 40 more workers.
Leadec Corporation, which has been supplying industrial services for the manufacture of the Chevy Cruze, informed the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services that it plans to permanently layoff the 40 workers between May 27 and June 7.
The so-called WARN Notice follows a previous notice issued by Leadec in February announcing 39 layoffs.
Now that GM has ended Cruze production in Lordstown, Leadec says services are no longer needed.
Although the employees are members of the United Autoworkers Union, they do not have the same bumping rights as UAW GM workers who can transfer to other General Motors facilities.
