An early morning fire in Warren has left two firefighters injured, a home in shambles, and a garage with damage.
Dispatchers said calls began coming in just before 6 a.m. about a home on fire near the corner of Vermont Ave and McMyler Street.
Callers reported seeing flames coming from the home, telling dispatchers "We need a fire truck now," and "this house is in flames."
911 callers reported that no one appeared to be home at the time- one neighbor said he thought it might be vacant.
However, just moments later the flames had spread to a nearby garage.
Fire officials on the scene say two firefighters were injured while battling the flames. Officials say one injured his back and another suffered burns to his leg.
Neither firefighter was taken to the hospital but was checked out by medical crews on the scene. They are expected to be ok.
Crews said they're still investigating what may have caused the fire. The home is believed to be vacant.
Officials say the garage did suffer some damage.
