The two men, one of whom is a Warren City Employee, who allegedly confessed to a robbery spree are being held in jail on a half a million dollar bond.

Warren police say 20-year-old Trevor McMillen robbed five convenience store gas stations within less than four hours. His friend 21-year-old Antonio Sarnelli, Jr. allegedly joined McMillen during the last two. The men were arrested Wednesday morning.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Thursday and were ordered to be held in jail on bonds of $500,000 each.

Warren Law Director Greg Hicks said, "It started about 3:10 am this morning there was a series of armed robberies in the city of Warren and Howland Township. It appeared from information coming in that it was the same individuals involved in this. A partial license plate was obtained, and it was put out over the airwaves, and the Trumbull County Sheriff's Deputies were able to locate the car fitting the description on Elm Road close to the Ivy Hill area. They were able to stop the vehicle. Two suspects were inside; there were masks, a weapon, and proceeds from the robberies."

McMillen works in the city of Warren's operations department as a laborer. That department oversees the city's streets and parks.

McMillen is facing five charges of aggravated robbery. Sarnelli currently faces two charges of aggravated robbery.

Hicks added, "It appears that McMillen returned to his home after the first three and encountered the second individual and they went out and did two more. In some cases, clerks told police the weapon was worn in a belt so they could see it, or sometimes they brandished the weapon. One suspect wore a ski mask; the other one looked like a camouflage bandana. It appears there was some indication that they needed money. It does not appear to be drug-related. It appears from what we know at this time that the suspects told clerks to give me the money, and at one point they said they were sorry they had to do this type of thing. We are glad that no one resisted and that the employees were well trained. No body's life is worth losing over a few hundred dollars in cash. "

The charges relate to a series of robberies overnight, involving a Pitt Stop on Youngstown Road, a True North on Market Street, Two separate BP gas stations, and a Pitt Stop on Elm Road.
