The Warren Police Department has announced the retirement of K9 Maxx after eight years of service to the citizens of Warren, Ohio.

According to a post on the Warren Police Department Facebook Page, Maxx, and his handler, Lt. Greg Coleman, now pass the rich tradition and torch to the department's newest K-9 officer, Heros, and handler Ptl. Justin Fenstermaker.

They will now join K9 Czar and Ptl. Michael Edwards patrolling the streets and serving the citizens of Warren for many years to come.

The Warren Police Department said: "Thanks for your service Maxx, we will miss you and enjoy your well deserved time off."
