Officials at Schwebel's say the Austintown and Warren retail locations will be closing next month.
According to Lee Schwebel, the Warren store on E. Market Street will close on January 19th.
Meanwhile, the Mahoning Avenue Schwebel's location in Austintown will close January 25th.
The Schwebel's Bakery and store locations on Midlothian Blvd. in Youngstown will remain open. In addition, Schwebel's bread will continue to be sold in Valley grocery stores.
Schwebel says it's becoming harder for the company to continue because of the rise of "dollar stores".
Schwebel's began more than a century ago when Joseph and Dora Schwebel began baking bread in their kitchen and delivering dozens of loaves a day in a wicker basket.
According to the company website, Schwebel Baking Company is one of the fastest growing independent, family-owned wholesale bakers in America, producing more than 700,000 packages of bread products at its four baking facilities and 30 distribution centers across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia.
Schwebel's services retail and foodservice customers, providing branded products under the Schwebel's, 'taliano, Millbrook, Country Hearth, Cinnabon, Sun-Maid and Roman Meal brand names.
