A David Anderson Junior High School student could face charges after authorities say he brought a pellet gun to school.

Lisbon School Superintendent Joseph Siefke told 21 News that the school resource officer learned that the student may have a firearm, then searched the student's bookbag where he found the air pistol.

The student was taken into custody.

Superintendent Siefke said that an “all call” message went out to inform parents of the incidents, but the school was not locked down.

This is the first year that the school system has a school resource officer.
