A local business is coming together to support the victims of last months synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.

Out of the tragedy of October 27th's shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh came a simple idea to spread hope and support for the community.

Will Knecht, Chairman of Wendall August Forge, told 21 News, "What we are best known for in the Mahoning Valley and in the Pittsburgh region is Christmas ornaments and creating an ornament that is symbolic of the bridges we can build versus the hate that divides."

The ornament that Wendall August Forge created was inspired by the hashtag stronger than hate that began trending immediately after the shooting.

"We saw in that the correlation between being stronger than hate, that we can rise above hate as individuals and as a community and with the correlation with the bridges which mark so much of the Pittsburgh fabric," continued Knecht.

Thousands have already been sold across the country with portions of the proceeds going to two local charities; the Jewish Foundation of Greater Pittsburgh and the Department of Safety Fund.

Knecht said, "The stronger than hate ornament will be available all throughout the holiday season at all the Wendell August locations and online and runs for about $20."
