A Grove City woman is being held in the Mercer County Jail on $250,000 bond for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill her husband using a deadly drug overdose.

State Police say 55-year-old Robin Lee Uber tried to get someone to help her give her 55-year-old husband, Jeffrey Uber, a lethal dose of medication.

Police arrested the wife on Wednesday after saying they learned that she had taken what investigators characterize as a “substantial step towards killing the victim”.

According to the criminal complaint, Uber talked to a known witness over the phone in which significant information was obtained.  Uber allegedly said that if she were to poison her husband she would need something that wouldn't show up in his blood.  She allegedly told the witness she had been using rubber gloves on everything including her husband's pill bottles to avoid getting her fingerprints on anything.

She then allegedly stated that she went to New Castle and attempted to pay two individuals to kill her husband but they rejected the offer.  She then went on to offer to pay the known witness $1000 in exchange for her willingness to schedule a doctor's appointment to obtain the necessary medication needed to kill her husband.

Uber made contact with the confidential witness on Tuesday and made arrangements to pick up the necessary medication to kill her husband.  Uber met at a location in Grove City on Wednesday to pick up what she presumed to be the requested medication in which she planned to allegedly kill her husband with.

Robin Uber was arraigned in district court on five charges including criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Uber's next court hearing is set for October 10.
