Dispatchers called out first responders to the intersection with Bedford Road after someone reported a crash involving a garbage truck and a minivan around 9 a.m.
Investigators say the passenger of the minivan, 80-year-old Blaine Tinelli.
Tinelli, as well as the driver, 75-year-old Linda Tinelli, were seriously injured when the mini-van they were in slid under the truck.
Both of those victims as well as the driver of the truck, identified as 48-year-old Stephen Styranec, of Struthers, were taken to Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Ohio State Troopers say the garbage truck failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by the minivan.
The crash remains under investigation. At this point, it is not immediately clear if charges have been filed.
