Police say they discovered the body of a deceased man after they were flagged down by a passer-by early Friday morning.

According to St. Clair police, an officer was waved down around 2:53 a.m. Friday while on patrol in Calcutta. The person who alerted the officer said that there was the body of a man down on East Liverpool Road.

St. Clair police informed 21 News that the officer found the man the passer-by was talking about laying off of the side of the road.

Authorities say the officer on scene then checked the man's pulse and found him to be dead.

The Columbiana County Coroner's office has conducted some tests, but there is no official cause of death at this time.

The deceased man was not reported missing and his name has not yet been released, according to police.
