Flames roared and lit up the sky over Youngstown early Thursday as a home on the city's South Side went up in smoke.

No one was in the two-story house on Wayne Avenue when a fire broke out just before 3 a.m., but firefighters worked to keep the flames spreading to the neighboring Tri-Area Electric building, less than a block from Market Street.

The fire was so large, people in downtown Youngstown reported smelling the smoke.

No one was hurt

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.  They are still investigating fires that broke out about 24 hours earlier in vacant homes on the East Side and South Side.
