Dana Balash
Dana Balash is the sports anchor/reporter for 21 News 6 P.M. and 11 P.M.
Dana Balash is the sports director and 6 P.M. and 11 P.M. sports anchor at 21 WFMJ.
He started with the company in 1985 at WFMJ Radio AM 1390. For five years, he did sports play-by-play and was the station's news director from 1987 through 1990.
WFMJ Radio was sold in 1990, and Dana moved to 21 News as a general assignment reporter from April 1990 to July 1992.
Dana took over the weeknight sports anchor position in July of 1992 and has been in the position ever since.
In 2001, he was named sports director and is responsible for daily coverage of local, regional, and national sports.
Over his career, Dana and the sports department have been honored numerous times for their work by the Ohio Associated Press, Cleveland Press Club, and Ohio High School Athletic Association.
Dana has covered numerous national events, including the Super Bowl, the World Series, National College Football Championship games, and professional boxing.
He is married to his wife, Kim, and they have a daughter, Hannah. Rounding out their family is their golden doodle, Teddy.
