Two murders in Youngstown in 24 hours on City's East side
Two murders within just over 30 minutes of each other, both on the East side of Youngstown.
Two murders within just over 30 minutes of each other, both on the Eastside of Youngstown.
One happened late Monday night and the other just minutes into Tuesday morning.
Youngstown Police were called to 910 Wilson Avenue first for the sound of gunshots.
As officers arrived on scene and began to investigate, two men came walking out of Ringside Auto Care Shop around 11:30 p.m. Monday night. Police detained the men and then spotted the victim in the doorway of the building.
The 34-year-old victim was deceased and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds to his arms and all over his body. Detectives are not releasing his name until his family can be notified but did say the victim is not from the Youngstown area.
Detectives say the two men who were detained coming out of the building were questioned and later arrested. Earl Charity is charged with murder and Juan Phillips is charged with aggravated murder.
According to a Youngstown Police call log, someone called 911 saying they heard at least five shots coming from the area.
Then at around 12:07 a.m. Youngstown Police were called to an area next to 911 Plazaview, also on the city's Eastside.
Thirty-year-old Brandon Wylie was found murdered. He had been shot multiple times according to detectives and was found in a grassy area.
A 21 News crew spotted 15 evidence markers next to shell casings at the scene of the homicide.
Detectives suspect two people are involved, and they are reviewing a surveillance camera from the crime scene.
Sources say Wylie is from Stewart Avenue in Youngstown and is a former Army veteran.
At this point, detectives aren't saying what the possible motive is in this case.
