A Mercer County woman escaped from her burning home early Friday, but firefighters had to rescue her dog.

A Mercer County woman escaped from her burning home early Friday, but firefighters had to rescue her dog.
The fire broke out in a home Route 173 near Airport Road in Pine Township at around 3 a.m.
When crews arrived the woman living there was already out, but said her dog was still inside.
Firefighters went inside and brought out the dog unharmed.
The fire was out in about an hour, but fire departments were still putting out hot spots at around 4 a.m.
Most of the damage is in the front of the home and the attic.
The fire department contacted the Red Cross to help the woman in case she needs shelter and clothing.
Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
