Youngstown police officers investigating a reported break-in at a West Side home say they were greeted by a naked woman getting out of the shower.
That woman, 33-year-old Kourtney Kidd spent the weekend in jail after police sorted out the stories she gave them about why she was taking a shower in someone else's home.
A man arriving at his home on the 2000 block of South Schenley Avenue Saturday evening told dispatchers that he heard noises in the basement.
Officers, accompanied by a K9 heard a voice in the bathroom and ordered the person to come out.
Police say the woman, who police later identified as Kidd, walked out completely naked and wet.
She told officers she was at the home to have sex with her boyfriend who had gone out to buy cigarettes.
Police told Kidd to cover herself with a towel while they figured out what was going on.
The man who had called police told officers that Kidd is not his girlfriend, but his ex-girlfriend.
He claims that Kidd has been terrorizing him and his family, and denies letting her into the home.
Once she was placed under arrest, police say Kidd told them a different story.
According to the police report, Kidd said that the ex-boyfriend had trapped her in the house and she was attempting to escape through the basement window.
She said she tried to call the police, but her cell phone battery had died.
Police say a call was placed from Kidd's phone shortly before the reported break-in, but police say that call was from a woman who claimed that her husband had just beaten her up.
When officers responded to the earlier call, they say they found a woman and her daughter who told them that she doesn't have a husband and no one else was home.
When police took Kidd to the Mahoning County Jail, she claimed that he had been raped by several people over the past few days who had also given her drugs.
After being checked out at the hospital, Kidd was booked into the county jail.
A further search of the South Schenley home where Kidd was arrested, police found a sweater outside a broken basement window.
Police believe the sweater belongs to Kidd and that she broke the window to get inside the home.
Kidd is being held in jail without bond on a charge of burglary.
