Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that gutted a home in Champion.

The alarms went out after 5 a.m. Thursday when someone spotted flames at the home on the 4100 block of North Park Avenue.

First responders from Bazetta Township found that the fire had already spread through the vacant home.

Firefighters from Champion and five other departments also battled the blaze.

The home was so badly damaged, firefighters did not go inside due to concerns over the structural integrity of the floor.

Champion fire officials say that damage was so extensive, the decision was made to demolish what was left of the house.

No injuries were reported.
