Life saving awards handed out after Trumbull County jail incident
Three Trumbull County corrections officers have received the Life Saving Award from the Buckeye Sheriff's Association after an incident at the Trumbull County Jail in June. Sergeant Rob Eckenrod and corrections officers Paul Burley and Matt Abbott revived inmate Eric Hopson after a suicide attempt inside a jail bathroom.

Surveillance video captured the moment the inmate was found hanging.
Hopson was pulled down and the officers called for medical help while they worked to revive him, ultimately saving his life.
