Officials from Lordstown and Trumbull County welcomed a brand new Canadian based company on Wednesday.
Matalco's $92 million state of the art re-melt aluminum extrusion facility at the Ohio Commerce Center on Tod Avenue is bringing between sixty and eighty new jobs to the area.
The company produces aluminum in various shapes and sizes for customers.
Company officials say they selected Lordstown for the location of the 200,000 square foot facility because of easy access to highways and rail and its proximity to customers.
The Village of Lordstown gave Matalco a 10-year, 75% tax abatement in exchange for a $4 million payroll.
The school district is expected to gain between $60,000 and $80,000 a year in income and property tax revenue.
According to the company website, Matalco is one of the largest independent aluminum recyclers in North America.
