A Youngstown woman was arrested for theft by deception after she allegedly charged thousands of dollars to credit cards in her grandmother's name.

Joanna Button, 29, was arrested at her home on the 4000 block of Stratmore Avenue on Tuesday.

According to a police report, the Boardman Police Department issued a warrant in connection to a report from August 2015. Joan Basta, Button's grandmother, told police that someone opened a home equity line of credit in her name.

Basta, 82, also reported that whoever opened the line of credit was also issued credit cards and had over 3,000 dollars in charges.

Button was taken to the Mahoning County Jail and scheduled to appear in court on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
