The Youngstown Fire Department says a 5-year-old playing with a lighter was the cause of a fire at a Youngstown apartment complex.
Firefighters say the child was playing with a lighter and a mattress caught on fire in the second floor bedroom of a Plaza View Apartment just before 7:00 p.m.
Two children have been released from the hospital after being checked out for smoke inhalation after the fire broke out in their apartment.
Officials say the fire was contained, but the bedroom sustained fire and heat damage. The rest of the apartment has smoke damage.
No one else in the apartment complex was injured.
