Austintown Police are trying to determine if a crime was committed after three men purchased gift cards valued at thousands of dollars.

Detectives tell 21 News that on Tuesday, they received a call from the clerk at the Mahoning Avenue Rite-Aid who became suspicious when three white males each bought $3,000 prepaid Visa or MasterCards, totaling $9,000.

Investigators say they have learned that similar prepaid cards were purchased at other area Rite Aid stores as well

Austintown police are still reviewing surveillance videos and inspecting cash register receipts, but so far, there is no indication that a crime has been committed.
