Youngstown State University officials have sent out a text alert saying that messages found spray painted on campus pose no credible threat.
The alert is in response to messages found spray painted on a rock that is well-known campus landmark.
In addition to the messages; “France deserves destruction” “YSU supports ISIS,” and “We are coming for you” there was also writing that appeared to be Arabic text painted on the rock.
Campus maintenance crews were quick to cover the messages with paint, but not before some images of the messages could be distributed over social media.
For generations student groups have painted the rock with messages to commemorate campus events or organizations.
Youngstown State University Police say the case is being taken seriously and the FBI has been notified as a precaution.
YSU officials say that classes remain in session.
Police continue to look for a suspect and checking campus surveillance video.
