Vienna neighbors concerned about white powder blowing from injection well site

Some Vienna Township neighbors were wondering what was going on at the site of a newly drilled brine injection well along State Route 193.
A resident contacted 21 News saying that trucks were on the property Wednesday afternoon spreading a white powder around.
The man, who asked not to be identified, said the powder was blowing onto neighboring property, homes and cars.
21 News went to the site and could see a white plume resembling smoke rising over the property.
We could not reach KDA, which owns the well. However Vienna Township fire officials say they were contacted by a company spokesman who described the powder only as soil stabilizer, but did not further identify the material.
Drilling of the well, which has been the target of protestors, began in August.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says that KDA still needs additional permits to begin injecting waste from oil and gas wells into the well.
ODNR says that the injection application includes inspections from expert geologists and engineers, and could take months.
