A Trumbull County woman is accused of running a massage parlor near an Austintown truck stop as a front for a brothel and a money laundering operation.

Twenty-nine-year-old Grace Sciarra of Leavittsburg was arrested Wednesday on a secret Mahoning County indictment charging her with promoting prostitution, money laundering, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

According to the indictment, Sciarra operated a spa at 5325 Seventy-six Drive since 2013 as a pretext to employ one or more prostitutes and launder the proceeds through a corporate checking account.

The indictment says that Sciarra actually played no part in hiring the spa employees, who were mostly Korean-born females who held permanent residence cards.

Investigators say that members of law enforcement do not know who actually hired the alleged prostitutes.

Authorities also allege that Sciarra only appeared to be operating the spa, and only signed payroll checks for herself and the employees.

The costs of utilities, rents, legal and accounting fees were paid for with checks imprinted with a facsimile of Sciarra's signature.

Investigators say that the corporate certified public accountant never met Sciarra and could not identify her as the sole shareholder of the corporation running the spa, which was registered with the Secretary of State as 76 Ventures.

According to the indictment, Sciarra believes that the lease she signed with the the landlord was for $2,000 per month, when in fact the rental checks totaled $7,500 per month.

The landlord recommended an attorney to help Sciarra set up the corporation, and someone other than Sciarra engaged the professional services of the Certified Public Accountant, the indictment alleges.

The landlord of the property is not identified in the indictment. However, online records from the Mahoning County Auditor lists the owner of 5325 Seventy-six Drive as Leber Real Estate Ltd.

According to the Ohio Secretary of State, Leber Real Estate is registered to Anthony J. Beshara, who gives an address of 5335 Seventy Six Drive, which is in part of the same building containing the spa and the Club 76 adult night club.

The investigation was conducted by the Mahoning County Law Enforcement Task Force.

Task Force Commander Jeff Solic tells 21 news that so far, Sciarra is the only person charged in connection with the alleged criminal enterprise.

However, Solic points out that the investigation is continuing.

State records show that 76 Ventures was dissolved as a corporation one year ago.
