Former light-weight Boxing Champ, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, is back in the Valley and ready for the next round of his career.

It's not the stage Mancini became known for but, he's throwing his hat into the ring and adding "radio host" to his repertoire.

"I've been told for years I have a face for radio so why not, I mean let's do it you know," laughed Mancini.

The "Boom Boom Room," as the show is called, airs every Thursday night at 6 p.m.on Radio 570. Topics, of course, center around the world of boxing, with some famous guests chiming into the conversation.

"Let guys be themselves, all the entertainers. I'm looking forward to speak to Florence Henderson, you know Penny Marshall, those are the types of conversations I'm looking forward to having," said Mancini.

Mancini also owns a production company, "Champion Pictures and Boom Boom Productions." The company is setting up shop in the Ohio One Building, located in downtown Youngstown.

"That's what I came back for, you can't say you're doing things downtown Youngstown when you're sitting in Santa Monica," said Mancini.

Plans are already in the works to begin filming a production in April, with hopes of more to follow.

"I said, 'look you come to Youngstown I'll give you everything Cleveland can but at a much better price," said Mancini. "Now with digital download with Amazon and Netflix being involved and Hulu, most productions aren't in L.A. so you can be in the Youngstown, which is one of the reasons I'm back here."
