A Youngstown woman had admitted to a hit and run that left another person injured on Saturday. 


Latefa Stanley, 20, is in the Mahoning County Jail after allegedly hitting a pedestrian on Curry Avenue and fleeing the scene. 


While responding to a report of an person hit by a car, police report being flagged down by a individual who reported the suspect had fled on Dennick Ave. After searching the area police found three individuals looking at a car matching the witness description with severe front end damage. On further inspection police noted that, in addition to the damaged bumper and hood, there was a head impression on the windshield and hair matching the victim. 


A man approached the officer and said the car was his daughter's and registered to him. The man said his daughter said she had struck a tree and told him to come to the parking lot where the car was. The man then called Stanley and told her to come talk to police, after questioning Stanley admitted she hit the victim. 


Stanley was taken to the hospital for a cut on her face, and while there told officers she hit the victim after the victim ran in front of her car and threw something at the windshield. After she was treated, Stanley was charged with felonious assault and taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
