Police cruisers normally dispatched to emergencies heard these words, "Attention all cars. Let's observe a moment of silence for our fallen officer, Michael T. Hartzell."

Hartzell was unexpectedly shot while sitting in his police cruiser outside of Powers Auditorium in downtown Youngstown.
Martin Koliser was convicted of the crime, sent to Ohio's death row, and later committed suicide.
Youngstown State University offers an annual scholarship in Hartzell's name as a tribute to the fallen officer.
