MESOPOTAMIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Flames destroyed a barn at a Trumbull County farm Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported at around 6:30 a.m. on Route 87 near the corner of South Girdle Road in Mesopotamia township.

First crews on the scene reported flames inside the barn. Firefighters from eight surrounding communities were called in to assist crews from Mesopotamia.

They were on the scene until noon.

No one was injured, but four horses being kept in the barn died in the  fire.

The barn was declared a total loss.

The Trumbull County Fire Investigative Unit has been called in to determine the cause of the fire.
