CLEVELAND (AP) - Drew Carey will help his hometown of Cleveland ring in the New Year.

Organizers of Cleveland's New Year's celebration on Public Square said Monday the comedian and host of "The Price is Right" will headline the countdown event to 2014.

Carey says he was thrilled with the invitation and can't imagine a better place to spend New Year's.

Managing partner Alonzo Mitchell III with the Ohio Homecoming organizing committee says Carey has always represented Cleveland wherever he has gone.

The free event will be televised in Cleveland from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
