Power outage follows explosion in Transfer, Pennsylvania

TRANSFER, Pa. - A handful of Mercer County residents woke up Wednesday with no electricity.
According to Penn Power's online outage map, fewer than 20 homes and businesses in the community of Transfer were still without power as of 8:22 a.m. Wednesday.
Power was cut to fewer than 100 people Tuesday night when an electrical transformer failed near the Covered Bridge Mobile Home Park on Kids Mill Road.
Residents report hearing an explosion before the power went out.
According to Penn Power's web site, the company first expected power to be restored by 1 a.m. Wednesday. However Penn Power's outage map showed that electricity was still out at 1:46 a.m. and the company then anticipated power restoration by 3 a.m.
The latest information from Penn Power predicts power restoration by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.
