Trucker escapes fire in Mahoning Township

MAHONING TWP., Pa. - A truck driver escaped with his life when fire broke out as he was driving in Lawrence County.
Fire crews were called when witnesses reported hearing explosions shortly after 12:30 p.m. along Route 422 in Mahoning Township.
First responders found a box truck burning not far from the New Castle School of Trades.
The driver tells firefighters that he smelled gasoline before flames broke out in the engine compartment.
He jumped out of the cab before the fire spread to the rest of the truck.
Investigators say no one was injured.
Traffic was delayed until crews could clear the scene.
