WARREN, Ohio - A 19-year-old woman is indicted on five charges in connection with the  fatal shooting of 18-year-old McKayla Hopkins in Perkins Park in August.

Lakeisha Bell is charged with murder with a firearm specification, involuntary manslaughter with a firearm specification, having weapons while under a disability, carrying a concealed weapon, and tampering with evidence.

City Prosecutor Traci Timko Rose tells 21 News that Bell is currently under indictment for drug charges, and as such, should not have been in possession of a gun.

Bell's attorney entered a not guilty plea.

The judge set bond at $100,000 and prohibited Bell from possessing firearms.

Bell's case was bound over to the Trumbull County Grand Jury for consideration.

Bell's relatives describe the shooting as tragic and unintended.

"It was an accident, it's not what I think, it's what I know ... so God's going to get us through," says Jonathan Penn, Bell's cousin.

Neither Timko-Rose, nor police investigators are characterizing the shooting as accidental at this time.
