Call for Columbiana County homicide task force
LISBON, Ohio - Columbiana County Families of Homicide Victims are remembering their loved ones.
On Thursday afternoon, the group gathered in Lisbon for its sixth annual balloon launch.
The group wants law enforcement agencies in Columbiana County to team up and form a homicide task force to solve the crimes.
"If we have 23 unsolved murders, we have 23 murderers out on our streets," said Belinda Puchajda, of CCFHV. "It could be anyone from the guy you're pumping gas behind to a teacher at your school."
"We have a lot of excellent police detectives throughout this county," said Chief John Soldano, of the Leetonia Police Department. "If we can get them together and work one common goal to solve these unsolved murders, it's a home run for everybody."
In Columbiana County, there are are also three missing persons cases.
